Location: Ballycasey Multi-Site Operations

Shift Pattern: 24/7 rotational shifts (days/nights/weekends)

Reporting To: Security Manager / Head of Security Operations

Hourly Rate: €28.00 per hour

 

The Opportunity

We are appointing a Lead Security Control Room Operator to take full on-shift command of security operations across a multi-site environment.

This is an operational leadership position requiring proven incident command capability, decisive judgement under pressure, and the ability to coordinate personnel, systems, and external agencies in real time.

You will act as the single point of control during incidents, maintaining situational awareness, directing response teams, and ensuring structured escalation and resolution.

 

Key Responsibilities

Incident Command & Operational Control

· Act as on-shift authority for all security incidents

· Lead incidents end-to-end: detection, validation, escalation, coordination, containment, resolution, and review

· Direct on-site response teams and allocate resources effectively

· Liaise with emergency services, law enforcement, facilities, and senior stakeholders

· Maintain command logs and ensure a full audit trail

· Deliver structured post-incident debriefs and lessons identified

Control Room Leadership

· Lead and supervise control room operators during shift

· Maintain discipline, focus, and procedural compliance

· Set operational priorities based on risk and impact

· Approve escalations and critical decisions

· Mentor and develop operator capability

Systems & Intelligence Oversight

· Oversee CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, and incident management systems

· Validate alarms and reduce false positives through structured assessment

· Maintain situational awareness across multiple sites

· Identify emerging risks, patterns, and vulnerabilities

· Ensure compliance with data protection and evidence-handling standards

Governance & Compliance

· Operate in line with SOPs, post orders, and regulatory requirements

· Ensure compliance with licensing and industry standards

· Support audit preparation and evidence gathering

· Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and response frameworks

 

Essential Requirements

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a security control room or SOC environment

· Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or lead operator role

· Demonstrable experience managing live security incidents

· Strong working knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems

· Experience liaising with emergency services

· PSA licence (or eligibility to obtain)

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to make sound decisions under pressure

· High level of integrity and professionalism

 

Desirable

· Experience within critical infrastructure, data centre, aviation, pharmaceutical, or corporate environments

· Formal Incident Command or crisis management training

· CCTV certification

· First Aid / Emergency Response training

· Knowledge of ISO-aligned environments

· Advanced report writing and documentation capability

· Incidents are controlled swiftly and proportionately

· Escalations are accurate and timely

· Control room discipline is maintained under pressure

· Stakeholders have confidence in operational command

· Documentation withstands audit and regulatory scrutiny

 

 

Important Note

This role is not suitable for junior or monitoring-only control room operators. Applicants must have demonstrable experience leading and commanding security incidents.
